Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Windows Server Virtualization Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Hyper - V, Windows Server administration, and enterprise storage technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing virtualized infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across enterprise IT environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, deploy, configure, and manage Windows Server environments and Hyper - V virtualization infrastructure.
- Administer Hyper - V hosts, virtual machines (VMs), virtual switches, and virtual networking configurations.
- Manage virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, migrations, snapshots/checkpoints, and lifecycle operations.
- Configure and maintain failover clustering, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Administer enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and storage area network connectivity.
- Manage storage provisioning, LUN allocation, multipathing, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot Windows Server, Hyper - V, storage, and virtualization - related incidents.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, configuration management, and routine maintenance.
- Support backup, recovery, replication, and business continuity initiatives.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with network, storage, backup, security, and application teams to ensure infrastructure stability.
- Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- 6 - 8 years of experience in Windows Server administration and virtualization infrastructure management.
- Strong hands - on experience with Microsoft Hyper - V virtualization.
- Good knowledge of Windows Server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing virtual machines, Hyper - V hosts, virtual networking, and resource allocation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
- Experience with storage provisioning, LUN management, multipathing, and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering and high - availability configurations.
- Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
- Understanding of server performance monitoring, security hardening, and patch management.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, or newer versions.
- Exposure to System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM).
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, HPE, NetApp, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows infrastructure services.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, infrastructure automation, and ITIL - based operations.
- Relevant Microsoft or virtualization certifications would be an added advantage.
