Cloud and Servers Systems Engineer

Cloud and Servers Systems Engineer is a technical professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based and on-premises server infrastructure. They ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of systems that support an organization’s operations and applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
   • Design and deploy cloud and on-premises server infrastructure to meet business requirements.
   • Configure and manage virtual machines, containers, and server clusters.
2. Cloud Management:
   • Manage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services like compute, storage, and networking.
   • Optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, and scalability.
3. Server Administration:
   • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
   • Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
4. Automation and Scripting:
   • Develop scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks and deployments.
   • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
5. Security and Compliance:
   • Implement security best practices for servers and cloud environments (e.g., firewalls, encryption, access controls).
   • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
6. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
   • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
   • Test and validate recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
7. Collaboration and Support:
   • Work with development, DevOps, and IT teams to support application deployment and integration.
   • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server and cloud-related issues.
8. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
   • Deploy/manage resources using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
9. Cloud Architecture     
   • Design highly available, fault-tolerant systems (e.g., multi-region deployments).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing).
• Expertise in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Understanding of AI.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

Education and Experience

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in server administration, cloud engineering, or a similar role.
