The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Canada: $150000 - $153000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Work on infrastructure supporting first-party (1P) Apple platform based development at Google.
• Maintain the Build rules for iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
• Ensure Apple platform development and build rules align with Google standards and Apple's 1P tooling output.
• Investigate new/changing Apple build system requirements/needs.
• Architect existing and future infrastructure with a long term direction towards being able to more flexibly support changes to Apple platforms.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of programming experience using swift.
• 2 years of experience with build systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Xcode's build system.
• Experience with Swift Package Manager build system and internals.
• Experience with the Bazel build system.
