The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain critical developer infrastructure, including end-to-end test frameworks and core debugging tools.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Own the team's technical strategy for developer velocity, including the development and maintenance of scalable test infrastructure and automation frameworks.
• Participate in the integration and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tools to solve complex problems in validation, automation, and debugging.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with Android application development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Preferred qualifications:

• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Foundational understanding of software development principles, including testing and debugging.
• Interest in or exposure to AI and machine learning concepts and their application.
• Good collaboration skills, with an eagerness to learn from and work with executive engineers and partner teams.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with enthusiasm for managing new and challenging problems.
