In this role, you will lead our Data Initiative team. You have the opportunity to have the influence across the entire Google Global Infrastructure (GGI) organization. You will work closely with the senior leadership of GGI, drive the strategic direction across various systems in GGI, accelerate AI adoption in the team to improve productivity and foster innovation. You will collaborate with various sub-organizations in GGI, understand their data model, and provide recommendations to them to operate safety on their data, and solve difficult problems involving data architecture, conformance and quality.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership in GGI, cross-functional teams to collect requirements, and define product and key user journeys.
- Lead the technical design and execution of complex projects, ensuring alignment with the long-term data architecture strategy.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support.
- Identify and advocate for improvements to data quality, system architecture, and engineering practices within GGI.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with designing and building distributed systems and backend services.
- Experience with data modeling, data pipelines and best practices in data management.
- Leadership experience through leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in people management or equivalent leadership experience.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure concepts.
