About the role
The Automation Technicianis responsible formaintainsa high technical aptitude of automated systems hardware and software,provideson-shift automation support working in conjunction with operations and other maintenance employees,assistin troubleshooting systems, coordinating project work, andmaintainingequipment functionality. Additionally, this role plays a key part in our reliability of equipment to ensure productionoperatesafety, in compliance with quality requirements and, has limited downtime.This position works 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm - 7:00am.
Role Responsibilities
Monitor andmaintainupdated all machinery automation systems.
Execute automation and electrical preventative maintenance, inspection, and corrective actions on machinery operations.
Troubleshooting onautomated system problems andmakenecessary repairs.
Update and troubleshooting on recipes system.
Perform equipment breakdown analysis relatedwithelectrical and automation issues, implementing solutions to increase reliability of equipment.
Recommend improvements and modifications to production machines.
Documenting completed work and the conditions found and analysis,utilizingComputerizedMaintenance Management System (CMMS).
Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of machinery operations.
Work within an operations driven team environment to resolve issues and improve performance.
Execute maintenance troubleshooting and equipment improvements by reading andcomprehendingautomationprogram, electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals.
Capable ofknowledge sharingin terms of equipment maintenance good practices through work instruction review, one point lesson developmentand performautomation training for maintenance and operations team.
Follow safety procedures, recommended practices, LOTO, job safety analysis (JSA), safe work permits andcomplieswith plant safety programs at alltime.
Execute the maintenance routines following the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality compliance.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Certification from a trade school in Electrical, Computer Operations, or Automation, or a degree in a maintenance-related field. Alternatively, relevant military experience or at least two years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, particularly with PLCs, VFDs, and other automated systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience of 2 to 5 years of recent and consistent experience inmaintainingadvanced electrical systems and/or automation systems.
Experience working with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider PLCs, VFDs, and other industrial automation equipment is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with computer architecture and its integration into electrical systems is highly desirable.
Havea working knowledge of troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, robots, AC motor drives,servodrives, vision system, sensors, industrial printersystemsand electronic components.
Knowledge of PLC ladder logic, Scada system andhistoriansoftware.
Ability to perform Automation Network troubleshooting with TC/IP and Profibus.
Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment
Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics and produce as-builtdrawingfor work performed.
Ability to perform electrical routine service, setup, adjustment and repairs of manufacturing mixers, high-speed packaginglinesand palletizersystem.
Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete job safety analysis with an emphasis onidentifyingelectrical hazards and proper safety procedures, handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC.
Technical understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)tobe able to review andmaintainfacilityrelatedGMP documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The salary range for this position is from $50,391 to $69,287.90 plus a 10% shift differential and a 5% performance bonus.
