This SME is the programme's on-the-ground authority for all Digital Production Manufacturing workstreams at the France site, serving as the critical bridge between plant operations leadership and the broader global delivery team. The role demands someone who has stood on a vehicle assembly line and knows exactly what breaks when a digital work instruction replaces a paper traveller. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead current-state process discovery across assembly, machining, routing, and production flow domains - validating findings directly with plant management in French.
- Act as the primary domain interface between local manufacturing stakeholders and the global HCLtech delivery team for all Manufacturing workstream design decisions.
- Review and challenge solution design artefacts - MES configurations, digital work instructions, quality gate logic - for real-world manufacturing fitness.
- Coach local plant teams through transformation outcomes, acting as a trusted change agent during deployment and stabilisation.
- Represent the France site's Manufacturing SME perspective in governance reviews, including sessions with the client's senior Digital Production leadership. MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years in automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing operations - production engineering, manufacturing management, or process improvement in a line environment.
- Hands-on experience with Digital Production / MES platforms in a large OEM or Tier-1 setting (SAP ME/MII, Siemens Opcenter, Dassault DELMIA, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated lean / TPS competence applied to vehicle assembly or complex discrete manufacturing - not just theoretical knowledge.
- Fluent French (native or C1+) AND professional English

- Deep understanding of eBOM-to-mBOM transformation, engineering change management process, design release governance, and the PLM-MES-ERP data flow.
- Excellent English communication - technical writing fluency and ability to run structured domain workshops with engineering stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience as a domain SME or senior business analyst on a large-scale engineering or PLM transformation programme. NICE TO HAVE
- Background in a commercial vehicle, truck, or large discrete manufacturing OEM engineering organisation.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AUTOSAR, or software-defined vehicle architecture trends affecting engineering data management.
