Human Resources Generalist On-Site Position (Dayton, Ohio)
Summary/Objective:
High Bar Brands is looking for a skilled and experienced On-Site Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Dayton, Ohio and support our Canfield, Ohio location. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, building relationships with employees and leaders, and supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As an HR Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted resource for employees and management while supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, compliance, training, and leave administration. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently while partnering closely with leadership.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Recruiting & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process for Ohio-based positions from requisition through orientation and onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, workplace concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and management guidance.
- HR Compliance: Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Leave Administration: Provide compliant oversight and administration of FMLA and other applicable state and federal leave programs, including disability-related programs as appropriate.
- Training & Development: Support employee and management training, coaching, and organizational development initiatives.
- HR Support: Partner with employees and managers to answer questions, resolve concerns, and promote a positive and productive workplace.
- HRIS & Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential employee information and utilize HRIS systems to support HR processes.
Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years in an HR Generalist role.
- Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, and HR compliance.
- Experience recruiting for a variety of positions, including management-level roles.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Must be fluent in Spanish
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent relevant HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- This is an on-site HR role supporting our manufacturing operations.
- Commuting to support the Canfield location when needed.
- Available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts as needed.
- Spend extended periods working at a desk and using a computer.
- Navigate and interact with employees and leaders throughout the facility.
