  • Ensure analytical data products remain accurate, complete and reliable.
  • Use Git and CI/CD to develop, test and deploy analytics code through controlled environments.
  • Maintain clear documentation, ownership, metadata, business definitions, lineage and access controls for analytical data products.
  • Optimise data models, transformations and queries for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams and external third parties to deliver effective solutions based on a deep understanding of business and technology needs.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to elicit and document requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional specifications, and business cases.
  • Identify potential solutions and assess their technical and business suitability.
  • Act as an internal consultant, owning the design, build and delivery of impactful dashboards, visualisations and reports.
  • Promote analytics best practice across the Group.
  • Document key activities, data assets and operational processes.
  • Support the administration, security and maintenance of analytics solutions.
  • Provide BAU support to the business, including training and mentoring colleagues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, proactive, logical and innovative approach.
  • Results-driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality, service and personal ownership.
  • Ability to analyse business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Confident communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines in a changing environment.
  • An inquisitive mindset and a desire to understand both data and business requirements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certification from an analytics technology vendor.
  • Insurance or financial services experience.
  • Degree in science, computer science, mathematics or a similar quantitative discipline.

About Hiscox:

As an international specialist insurer we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products. Instead we are selective and focus on our key areas of expertise and strength - all of which is underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things.

We insure the unique and interesting. And we search for the same when it comes to talented people. Hiscox is full of smart, reliable human beings that look out for customers and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, making good and rebuilding when things go wrong. Everyone is encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and look for solutions.

Scratch beneath the surface and you will find a business that is solid, but slightly contrary. We like to do things differently and constantly seek to evolve. We might have been around for a long time (our roots go back to 1901), but we are young in many ways, ambitious and going places.

Some people might say insurance is dull, but life at Hiscox is anything but. If that sounds good to you, get in touch.

Work with amazing people and be part of a unique culture
