The Corporate Development Intern will support HMH's growth strategy through mergers & acquisitions, market analysis, and strategic initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in financial analysis, valuation, industry research, acquisition screening, and integration planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, industry, and competitive research to support strategic decision-making and deal sourcing
  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets and growth opportunities
  • Build and analyze financial models and business cases
  • Support valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction execution activities
  • Prepare presentations and analyses for senior management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration planning and strategic projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and working toward completion of Bachelor or Graduate degree in business-related field; finance or economics a plus
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 with a Junior/Senior or MBA status
  • Ability to communicate professionally and interact at a high level with senior management and with a global multi-cultural team based in various countries around the world
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Multilingual a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated interest in Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategy and/or Energy Industry is a plus
  • Experience with financial research tools (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.) is a plus
