Job Summary

The Solution Architect Program Manager is responsible for driving advanced technology solutions from early concept through architecture definition, proof of concept, productization planning, system integration, validation, and launch readiness. This role combines deep technical capability with disciplined program execution to ensure that innovative concepts are translated into clear scope, committed deliverables, product milestones, and launch timelines.

This position requires strong solution architecture judgment, structured planning, and cross-functional leadership across engineering, product, hardware, firmware, software, validation, security, operations, and external partners. The role owns the bridge between concept feasibility and production execution by defining requirements, aligning stakeholders, managing schedules, resolving technical dependencies, tracking risks, and maintaining readiness documentation required to deliver solutions on product milestones and market launch commitments.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end solution programs from concept exploration, business and technical feasibility, architecture definition, POC execution, productization planning, system integration, validation, and launch readiness.
• Translate ambiguous innovation concepts into clear solution scope, use cases, requirements, architecture assumptions, success criteria, milestones, resource needs, and execution plans.
• Own integrated schedules that align engineering deliverables with product development checkpoints, POR decisions, validation gates, manufacturing readiness, and launch timeline commitments.
• Partner closely with product management, system architecture, hardware, firmware, software, security, validation, operations, and external suppliers to manage dependencies and secure delivery commitments.
• Lead architecture and technical tradeoff discussions to ensure solution designs are scalable, secure, manufacturable, supportable, and aligned with product roadmap priorities.
• Define and maintain program artifacts, including functional requirements, interface assumptions, system-state definitions, delivery plans, issue logs, risk registers, decision records, validation plans, and readiness checklists.
• Drive issue triage, dependency closure, technical decision-making, mitigation planning, fallback options, and escalation paths to keep programs on schedule.
• Review program deliverables for alignment with solution intent, architecture requirements, product milestone criteria, quality expectations, security standards, and production-readiness needs.
• Communicate program status, risks, tradeoffs, decision asks, recovery plans, and launch readiness clearly to engineering leaders, product stakeholders, and executive audiences.
• Enable successful transition of innovation solutions into scalable product programs that can be delivered on committed commercial product milestones and launch timelines.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, system software, embedded software, firmware, platform engineering, technical program management, or complex hardware/software product development.
• Proven experience driving technical solutions from concept or POC through architecture alignment, productization planning, integration, validation, production readiness, and product launch.

Preferred Certifications

Solution Architecture & Productization Leadership

• Experience defining solution architecture, feature scope, system boundaries, technical assumptions, and integration models for new technology programs.
• Ability to convert early concepts into executable productization plans with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, exit criteria, risks, and launch-readiness requirements.
• Experience managing roadmap alignment, agile execution, backlog priorities, release readiness, issue triage, defect tracking, and executive status reporting.

Technical Depth, Integration, and Launch Readiness

• Strong familiarity with embedded systems, firmware, drivers, operating system interfaces, connectivity, security, manageability, validation, and commercial PC platform integration.
• Experience coordinating hardware, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, and supplier dependencies required to move solutions from lab feasibility into product programs.
• Exposure to AI-enabled device experiences, edge AI, device orchestration, intelligent endpoint platforms, or commercial PC innovation is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep technical understanding of solution architecture, system integration, embedded platforms, PC architecture, embedded software, drivers, kernel-level software, operating system interfaces, connectivity, security, manageability, and validation practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of embedded software and system software development, including C/C++, Python or scripting languages, RTOS or Linux/Windows system concepts, device drivers, firmware interfaces, boot flows, power management, performance optimization, and hardware/software debugging.
• Experience with software development lifecycle practices for embedded and system software, including requirements definition, design reviews, source control, CI/CD pipelines, unit and integration testing, defect triage, code quality, security reviews, and release readiness.
• Ability to work across low-level platform software and higher-level solution architecture to evaluate technical feasibility, identify integration gaps, debug cross-domain issues, and guide engineering teams toward production-quality implementation.
• Strong ability to define scope, structure ambiguous concepts, identify technical gaps, sequence workstreams, and drive execution from concept to productization.
• Skilled in milestone planning, integrated schedule management, dependency tracking, risk mitigation, issue triage, fallback planning, and release-readiness governance.
• Ability to facilitate architecture reviews, technical tradeoff discussions, design decisions, and cross-functional alignment across engineering and product teams.
• Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical risks, schedule impacts, decision asks, recovery options, and launch-readiness status.
• Familiarity with agile planning, CI/CD workflows, defect tracking tools, source control processes, validation planning, system debugging, and supplier-delivery management.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
