IKEA is the global home furnishing brand founded in Sweden in 1943, and its main website is operated by Inter IKEA Systems, the worldwide IKEA franchisor based in Delft in the Netherlands. The wider Inter IKEA Group develops the product range and runs purchasing, supply and manufacturing operations, including IKEA Industry factories in Poland and Portugal, while franchisees such as Ingka Group operate IKEA stores worldwide. Its openings span production workers, forklift operators, maintenance and PLC technicians, design and embedded software engineers, business developers at purchasing offices, transport planners, finance staff and store co-workers.

We are reshaping how we work with Indirect Procurement.

Indirect Procurement is making significant changes. Our new Indirect Procurement organisation will enable us to work smarter, simplify how we operate and create more value. With clearer roles, stronger collaboration and a foundation for AI and automation, we are building a future-ready organisation together.

Shape strategic partnerships across cloud, infrastructure, data and AI

The best supplier relationships are about much more than contracts and performance reviews. As Supplier Relations Leader for Cloud, Infrastructure, Data & AI Platforms, you will own strategic relationships with some of IKEA’s most important global technology suppliers.

Your portfolio may include suppliers such as Microsoft, AWS, Oracle and Databricks. You will work at the intersection of commercial strategy, cloud transformation, technology platforms, data and AI. Together with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will translate IKEA’s technology priorities into stronger partnerships, improved commercial outcomes and long-term value creation.

Why this role matters

Cloud, infrastructure, data and AI platforms are increasingly important to IKEA’s digital capabilities, operational resilience and future development.

The suppliers within this ecosystem operate complex commercial and consumption models and have significant influence on IKEA’s technology direction and cost base. Managing these partnerships requires more than traditional supplier management. It requires strong commercial leadership, sufficient technology-market understanding and the ability to engage credibly with senior technology, architecture, engineering and platform stakeholders.

You will help IKEA optimise strategic technology partnerships, strengthen negotiation capability and reduce dependency on external expertise. You will contribute to building and retaining deeper cloud, infrastructure and platform knowledge within IKEA.

A day in your life with us

You will:

  • Own strategic relationships with major cloud, infrastructure, data and AI platform suppliers.
  • Develop supplier strategies aligned with IKEA’s technology and business priorities.
  • Lead executive governance, strategic reviews and joint business planning.
  • Drive supplier performance, development, innovation and long-term value creation.
  • Support complex commercial negotiations, renewals and strategic agreements.
  • Challenge supplier pricing, consumption, licensing and commitment models.
  • Connect supplier roadmaps with IKEA’s cloud, infrastructure, data and AI strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, platform simplification and improved commercial governance.
  • Build IKEA’s internal knowledge and negotiation capability for major technology platforms.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Technology & Platforms, architecture, engineering, data and other business stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier, concentration, commercial, operational and technology risks.
  • Manage escalations and support resilience and business continuity.

Who you are

You understand the strategic importance of cloud, infrastructure, data and AI ecosystems and how these platforms shape both technology capability and commercial outcomes.

You can translate technical and commercial complexity into clear supplier strategies and decisions. You do not need to be an engineer, but you have sufficient technology understanding to challenge global platform providers and operate credibly with senior technology stakeholders.

We believe you bring:

  • Strong experience in supplier relationship management, sourcing, procurement or technology commercial management.
  • Experience managing hyperscalers, cloud providers, infrastructure suppliers, data platforms or comparable strategic technology partners.
  • Understanding of cloud economics, infrastructure and platform ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of cloud consumption, enterprise commitments, licensing and commercial models.
  • Experience supporting complex technology negotiations, renewals or strategic agreements.
  • Understanding of cloud transformation, data platforms and AI-enabled technology ecosystems.
  • The ability to connect supplier capabilities and roadmaps with enterprise technology priorities.
  • Experience managing strategic or business-critical supplier relationships.
  • Strong commercial understanding and negotiation capability.
  • Experience driving supplier performance, innovation and joint value creation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • The ability to engage credibly with architecture, engineering, platform and senior technology stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, risk and complex business situations.

Experience working directly with suppliers such as Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, Databricks or comparable global technology-platform providers would be an advantage.

The position can be located in Malmö (SE) or Delft (NL) or Warsaw (PL).

We recruit based on values, competence, potential and diversity. We will first consider co-workers employed at Inter IKEA Group who are impacted by organisational changes, provided the competence requirements for the role are met.
