About the Role

Intrepid's Finance Centre of Excellence (COE) is a shared services hub supporting Record-to-Report, AR, AP, Inventory, and Claimback (Value Protection) workstreams across six Southeast Asian markets, running on NetSuite with data feeds from TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada.

We're hiring a Data Automation Specialist to take ownership of our Claimback automation project-the system that tracks and reconciles marketplace compensation, returns, and deduction data feeding into our Value Protection workflow. This is a priority build: your first mandate is to bring this project to completion, with clear milestones in the first quarter. Beyond that, you'll take on additional automation initiatives across the COE's broader data workstreams.

This role sits at the intersection of finance operations and data engineering-you'll need to understand the business logic behind claimback processes, not just write code against a spec.

What You'll Own (First 90 Days)

• Take ownership of the Claimback automation system and complete the data reconciliation logic between marketplace claim/deduction data and NetSuite records.
• Build each reconciliation to a tie-out/anchor check with clear exception handling, and ensure the outputs are provably complete and balanced.
• Build reporting/dashboard views so the Claimback team can track claim status, recovery amounts, and aging without manual pulls
• Identify and close gaps in the current interim workaround, improving accuracy and reducing manual reconciliation effort
• Document the system logic and handoff points clearly, so the solution doesn't depend solely on one person going forward

What Comes Next (Growth Path)

• Once Claimback is stable, you'll take on additional automation projects across the COE's data workstreams-for example, extending reconciliation logic to other finance processes, supporting BI/reporting tooling, or improving data pipelines that feed COE trackers. Scope will grow with your interest and strengths; this is not a single-project role long-term.

Requirements

Data Analysis (40%)

• Strong descriptive and diagnostic analytics skillset-able to go beyond "what happened" to explain "why," using claim/reconciliation data as the working example
• Experience building and maintaining automated reports and dashboards (Looker, Power BI, or similar)
• Expert-level Excel (Power Query) and Google Sheets (Apps Script)

Data Engineering (40%)

• Strong Python programming (must-have)
• Experience with GCP, especially BigQuery (must-have)
• Able to build and schedule batch/recompute jobs - Cloud Run / Cloud Functions or equivalent (must-have)
• Familiar with ETL/ELT pipeline design and maintenance (must-have)
• Strong SQL for data reconciliation and reconciliation-control discipline (a plus)
• Experience with Polars or PySpark (a pkus)
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD (a plus)

Domain Fit (20%)

• Comfortable translating messy business rules (claim types, deduction categories, reconciliation exceptions) into structured automation
• Genuine interest in the finance/data intersection-this role rewards curiosity about why the numbers behave the way they do, not just how to automate a task.
• Able to work independently once given a business problem and communicate progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Prior exposure to e-commerce marketplace data (Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada)
• NetSuite exposure
• Basic understanding of accounting/finance workflows
