SAP Basis Manager - S/4 HANA/ECC

Role Overview :
iPivot is looking for an experienced SAP Basis Manager to lead end-to-end SAP Basis service delivery across a complex SAP landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role involving SAP system administration, operational stability, incident management, team leadership, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Delivery :
- Ensure the stability and availability of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and related applications across production and non-production environments.
- Lead high-severity incidents, technical escalations, root-cause analysis, and complex problem management.
- Manage SAP Basis Application Management Services (AMS), including system monitoring, administration, and transport management.
- Perform client copies, system refreshes, kernel upgrades, support-pack upgrades, patching, and SAP Note implementation.
- Manage user administration, job scheduling, printer configuration, and interface-related activities.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery (DR) drills.
- Ensure incident, change, and problem management processes meet agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).
Team Leadership :
- Lead, mentor, and develop the SAP Basis team.
- Manage work allocation, shift coverage, workload balancing, and shift handovers.
- Provide operational leadership during second-shift coverage and beyond, when required.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational runbooks, and known-issue registers.
- Build technical capabilities within the team and reduce dependency on individual resources.
Client Engagement & Governance :
- Act as the primary SAP Basis contact for client stakeholders.
- Manage technical escalations, expectations, and service delivery commitments.
- Conduct weekly and monthly service reviews using operational performance metrics.
- Identify automation, optimization, and continuous-improvement opportunities.
- Align delivery activities with engagement governance and the overall SAP Basis Lead.
Mandatory Technical Skills :
- SAP Basis Administration for SAP S/4HANA and ECC.
- SAP Landscape Management (SAP LaMa).
- SAP Focused Run (FRUN) for monitoring, alerting, and system management.
- SAP Process Orchestration / Process Integration (SAP PO/PI) administration and troubleshooting.
- Basis support for Documentum, PCL, or OpenText.
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and hyperscaler-hosted SAP workloads.
- Strong Linux, Unix, and Windows operating-system knowledge.
- Database administration, performance management, backup, and recovery across SAP HANA, Oracle, and SQL Server environments.
Ideal Candidate :
- A hands-on SAP Basis leader with strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience managing complex SAP landscapes, proven team leadership, and the ability to own client-facing service delivery and operational governance.
