Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing real estate portfolio. This entry level role offers hands on exposure to property level accounting, cash management, account reconciliations, and accounting support. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing recurring deadlines and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Record and monitor weekly banking activity
• Process and apply tenant payments (checks and electronic payments)
• Maintain accurate tenant ledgers and assist with collections follow-up
• Support commercial and utility billing processes
• Prepare recurring accounts receivable and aging reports
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices
• Allocate expenses to the appropriate property and general ledger accounts
• Process recurring and bulk transaction imports
• Prepare and post recurring journal entries, including payroll allocations, management fees, and income allocations
• Process intercompany and inter-property reclassifications as needed
• Maintain supporting schedules and internal tracking spreadsheets
• Participate in team meetings and support special projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Real estate or property management experience is a plus
• Yardi experience is a plus
