Banking Team Leader

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Banking team and ensure delivery against team objectives.
• Oversee daily cash planning activities.
• Review the processing and allocation of insurance receipts.
• Oversee local and foreign payment processing and approvals.
• Review accounting journals and banking transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage business credit card expenditure reporting and reconciliations.
• Provide oversight of banking platform administration and support for online banking users.
• Review bank and clearing account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain banking reconciliation dashboards and ageing reports.
• Manage monthly VAT reporting and VAT submissions.
• Coordinate year-end audit deliverables and support audit processes.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance systems, tools, and operational processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members to support individual and team growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within financial operations and/or banking.
• At least 3 years' experience managing and leading a team.
• Experience implementing and improving financial processes.
• Knowledge of accounting systems and ERP platforms, with SAP experience advantageous.
• Strong understanding of banking operations. reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Experience managing audit requirements and compliance activities.
