This position is custom-built for an energetic finance professional who excels at stepping away from the desk, visiting branch sites, and partnering directly with operational leadership to optimize workflows and eliminate margin leakage.

Operating at the vibrant intersection of commercial finance and site operations, you will take ownership of branch month-end closures, inventory controls, internal audit compliance, and finance process automation. Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Month-End & Reporting: Direct month-end accounting cycles across operational business units, preparing general ledger journals, bank reconciliations, and financial performance packs.
• Site Visits & Operational Partnering: Travel to regional branches and operational sites to audit on-the-ground activities, understand operational drivers, and provide commercial guidance to branch managers.
• Stock Governance & Internal Controls: Oversee stock counts, perform inventory reconciliations, monitor internal risk controls, and resolve inventory shrinkage or ledger discrepancies.
• AI, Automation & Process Innovation: Implement AI-enabled productivity tools, data analytics dashboards, and automated accounting workflows to optimize reporting speed and accuracy.
• Commercial Insights & Decision Support: Conduct ad hoc cost-benefit analyses, track operational expenditure efficiency, and deliver actionable insights to support executive decision-making.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Formal Education: A completed BCom Degree in Accounting or Financial Management is essential (a CIMA qualification or active CIMA studies is highly advantageous).
• Experience Track Record: Minimum of 3+ years of solid experience gained through completed formal articles or commercial finance roles.
• Technical & Operational Competencies (Non-Negotiable):
  • Practical, hands-on experience in full-function month-end closures, internal risk controls, and operational stock management.
  • Proven experience in Finance Business Partnering, engaging directly with non-financial operational stakeholders.
• Systems & Digital Capabilities (Non-Negotiable):
  • Advanced operational command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools and digital process automation technologies within a finance function is essential.
• Non-negotiables: Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, an assertive and proactive work style, uncompromised attention to detail, and full willingness to travel to regional branches and operational sites.
