Financial Controller

Job Description:

This role involves:

• Preparing and processing monthly journals
• Assisting with external and internal audits
• Performing bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintaining fixed asset register and depreciation
• Preparing VAT, PAYE, UIF and other statutory working papers
• Assisting with budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting
• Analysing costs and investigate variances
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and automate repetitive tasks
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects

Skills & Experience:

• 6+years' commercial accounting experience
• Manufacturing and FMCG experience (advantageous)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP accounting systems (Power BI, SAP, Sage, Syspro and Microsoft Dynamics)
• Knowledgeable of South African VAT, PAYE and UIF
• BOM costing and stock inventory
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Qualification:

• B.Com Accounting (or similar)
