Payroll Officer

Job Description:

This position involves:

• Processing monthly payroll for 1,500+ employees across multiple sites
• Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, shifts, leave pay, UIF, PAYE, SDL, and other statutory deductions
• Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and within strict deadlines
• Preparing payroll reports and month-end payroll reconciliations
• Maintaining employee payroll records and payroll documentation
• Handling payroll-related queries and liaising closely with HR and finance
• Ensuring compliance with BCEA, SARS regulations, labour legislation, and company policies
• Processing employee appointments, terminations, transfers, promotions, and salary adjustments

• 4-5 years' experience in a payroll-focused role
• Strong understanding of BCEA, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and payroll legislation
• Payroll experience within a large employee environment
• Experience on VIP, Sage 300 People, or Payspace
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Deadline-driven and highly organised

• B.Com Accounting (or similar) - non-negotiable
