Product Systems Analyst

• Provide effective production support to trading and business teams within the Markets environment.
• Ensure the stability, performance and optimal functioning of trading systems.
• Investigate and resolve system issues, including accounting and P&L-related issues.
• Monitor and optimise trading systems and identify opportunities to improve performance and functionality.
• Analyse business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Gather, analyse and validate requirements for changes to trading systems.
• Translate business requirements into practical and sustainable technology solutions.
• Participate in projects in a consulting or specialist capacity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal technology teams and external stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Support business continuity by contributing to robust and resilient technology solutions.
• Participate in change management processes and collaborate with technology delivery teams supporting the Markets business.
• Ensure trading systems meet relevant security and regulatory requirements.
• Document system processes, procedures and policies.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting and incident-recovery procedures.
• Support knowledge transfer and training for relevant support teams.
• Manage communication channels between technical integration teams and business stakeholders.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and obtain buy-in for proposed process and system enhancements.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative information to support solution design and implementation.
• Identify and recommend technology solutions that support business objectives.
• Stay abreast of financial markets, technology and industry trends and share relevant knowledge with stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, systems and operational practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the Markets technology environment.
• Manage multiple activities and projects while maintaining agreed priorities and deliverables.
• Ensure personal development activities are completed within agreed timeframes.

• Relevant BSc, BCom, BTech or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, Finance, Investments or Information Systems.
• 2-3 years’ practical experience supporting trading systems.
• Understanding of the financial markets value chain, including Trading, Treasury, Sales, Operations, Finance and Market Risk.
• Knowledge of Money Markets and Foreign Exchange (FX) products.
• Understanding of financial principles including time value of money, cash flow discounting and curve valuation.
• Experience resolving or analysing accounting and P&L issues.
• Strong business analysis and requirements elicitation skills.
• Ability to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
• Understanding of SQL and data analysis.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing or contributing to multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of governance, risk and controls within a technology environment.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Experience working within an Investment Banking or Markets technology environment.
• Experience supporting Trading Systems / Capital Markets platforms.
• Exposure to FX and Money Markets technology solutions.
• Experience with technology integrations supporting Markets businesses.
• Experience with financial markets data, reporting or analytics.
• Knowledge of relevant financial-services regulatory requirements.
• Experience with process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
