Project Engineer

Job Description

• Design and develop industrial ammonia (NH₃) and CO₂ refrigeration systems in accordance with SANS 10147 and industry standards
• Perform heat load calculations, equipment selection, and system design
• Prepare Bills of Materials, technical documentation, cost estimates, and tender submissions
• Review supplier quotations and specify suitable equipment.
• Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning
• Conduct site inspections and system assessments to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain high engineering standards

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial refrigeration system design
• Experience designing ammonia (NH₃) and CO₂ refrigeration systems
• Strong understanding of SANS 10147 and industrial refrigeration principles
• Experience with heat load calculations, equipment selection, and tender documentation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is advantageous

• BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering
• Category C SAQCC Designer Certification
• Additional refrigeration or energy-related qualifications are advantageous
• Valid driver's licence
• Willingness to travel when required
