Spa Therapist

Core Criteria:

• Diploma or tertiary qualification in Somatology (or equivalent) - essential
• Valid driver’s licence - essential
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Spa Therapist, with verifiable references
• Hands-on experience in massage techniques, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and face and body therapies
• Thorough knowledge of various massage modalities and a general understanding of body treatments
• First Aid certificate - advantageous
• Excellent communication and listening skills, with a friendly, outgoing personality
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently
• Basic computer literacy
• Able to stand for extended periods

• Perform massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing and face and body treatments within the allotted time
• Deliver treatments in line with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
• Check guests’ medical conditions and allergies before every treatment
• Explain treatments to guests and recommend suitable options for their wellness needs
• Adjust techniques during treatments based on guest feedback
• Keep accurate records of all treatments performed for each guest
• Promote the spa’s treatments, retail products and current specials to guests
• Maintain a clean, hygienic treatment area, including sanitising work surfaces and sterilising instruments and equipment before each use
• Change treatment room linen and keep the spa well stocked, reporting shortages to the Lodge Manager
• Use equipment and products carefully to support cost control
• Handle guest complaints professionally and report any accidents or incidents to the Lodge Manager
• Host guests outside the spa environment when required
• Assist in other areas of the operation as reasonably requested by lodge management

• Salary in the region of R13,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience
• Monthly commission, paid in arrears through payroll from the first rand generated (not only above target):
  • Below target: 0%
  • 100% of target achieved: 5%
  • 110% of target achieved: 8%
  • 120% of target achieved: 10%
• Monthly targets communicated in advance of each month
