Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Actuary/Senior Actuary, Consulting Practice based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead actuarial consulting engagements at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and value-based care.

You will use actuarial expertise and quantitative analysis to help clients navigate complex risk-based contracting challenges.

The position combines technical analysis, project leadership, client relationship management, and strategic problem-solving.

You will work with medical claims data to model financial outcomes, identify healthcare trend drivers, and assess potential risks.

As you grow into the role, you will increasingly own client relationships and serve as a trusted primary point of contact.

You will also collaborate closely with software teams to help shape technology that supports contract measurement and adjudication.

This is an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment where you can build expertise, mentor others, and contribute to meaningful healthcare transformation.

Accountabilities:

    • Review actuarial code, methodologies, analyses, and deliverables produced by analysts to ensure technical quality and accuracy.
    • Manage data requirements, assess the appropriateness and completeness of medical claims data, and resolve data-related challenges involving internal and client-provided information.
    • Lead the planning and execution of client engagements, managing priorities, timelines, deliverables, and project dependencies.
    • Collaborate effectively with clients and other external stakeholders to understand business needs, address challenges, and deliver actionable actuarial solutions.
    • Develop recommendations based on quantitative analysis and clearly communicate findings, implications, and solutions tailored to client objectives.
    • Build increasingly strong ownership of client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for assigned engagements.
    • Identify opportunities to standardize processes and improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of actuarial consulting work.
    • Model financial outcomes, analyze healthcare trend drivers, and identify risks associated with value-based care arrangements.
    • Apply actuarial judgment and quantitative insights to support sustainable financial and operational outcomes for healthcare stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with software and technical teams to design, develop, and deploy solutions that support third-party contract adjudication and value-based care workflows.
    • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and helping raise the quality of team deliverables.
    • Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment focused on solving complex healthcare challenges.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
      • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation is required; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation is preferred.
      • 7-10 years of professional experience working with medical claims data and healthcare-related actuarial analysis.
      • Strong technical skills with Excel, R, and Python, with the ability to apply these tools to complex data and actuarial problems.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to evaluate data, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
      • Excellent project management, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple client deliverables effectively.
      • Strong client relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex quantitative findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
      • Entrepreneurial mindset with the adaptability, initiative, and ownership required to succeed in a rapidly growing environment.
      • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across actuarial, technical, and client-facing teams.
      • Ability to lead, mentor, and support junior colleagues while contributing positively to team development.
      • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in solving complex challenges within the healthcare industry.
      • Legal authorization to work in the United States for the duration of employment without requiring employer-sponsored immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
      • Benefits:

        • Generous equity grants through ISO stock options.
        • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with significant employer-paid contributions.
        • 4% 401(k) employer match.
        • Flexible paid time off.
        • Weeklong winter shutdown.
        • 10 paid holidays each year.
        • Quarterly team offsites with occasional travel opportunities.
        • Opportunity to contribute to the development and scaling of technology supporting the transition toward value-based healthcare.
        • Collaborative and creative culture that encourages learning, ownership, and professional growth.
        • Opportunity to work at the intersection of actuarial science, healthcare technology, and value-based care.
