This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bilingual Communications Manager based in Canada.
This is a national communications leadership role focused on reaching and engaging communities affected by bladder cancer.
You will shape bilingual awareness campaigns, strengthen digital engagement, and ensure clear, consistent communications across Canada.
The role combines strategic communications with hands-on responsibility for websites, social media, email, educational resources, and events.
You will guide direct reports and volunteers while coordinating external vendors and creative partners.
You will also serve as a technical and operational lead for webinars, support groups, town halls, and hybrid events.
With a strong emphasis on empathy, accessibility, and community impact, your work will help people access trusted information and support.

Accountabilities
- Develop and execute bilingual English/French awareness and outreach campaigns supporting national initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and key awareness moments.
- Expand organizational reach across digital channels by working with stakeholders and influencers, growing social media communities, and increasing newsletter subscriptions.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and accurate messaging across all communications and both official languages.
- Coordinate, guide, and provide editorial feedback to two direct reports and a network of volunteers.
- Write and refine high-impact communications, including social media content, national announcements, media releases, executive briefing notes, and key messaging documents.
- Manage bilingual translation workflows to ensure communications are accurate, culturally appropriate, and consistent across public-facing channels.
- Serve as the primary contact for external vendors and freelancers supporting the development, production, and publication of educational and marketing resources.
- Build and maintain a centralized communications calendar coordinating fundraising initiatives, program launches, awareness campaigns, and other national activities.
- Lead the strategy, design, and ongoing management of the organizational website, ensuring bilingual content accuracy, accessibility, usability, and SEO best practices.
- Monitor and analyze communications performance, including website traffic, email engagement, and digital outreach metrics, and use insights to improve future strategies.
- Coordinate technical requirements for webinars, seminars, digital town halls, live support groups, and hybrid events.
- Travel across Canada approximately twice per year to host and facilitate educational events, conferences, and stakeholder gatherings.
- Provide occasional evening or weekend support for events and virtual support groups, as required.
- Professional experience in corporate communications, public relations, digital strategy, nonprofit communications, or a related field.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating teams, with previous experience mentoring or supervising junior staff strongly preferred.
- Native or full professional fluency in both written and spoken English and French is mandatory.
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress and email marketing tools such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Proficiency with virtual event platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Video editing and graphic design capabilities using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with digital analytics platforms and CRM systems.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible, and engaging communications.
- Warm, empathetic communication style suited to community and patient-support environments.
- Strong leadership, organizational, project-management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a distributed national team.
- Reliable home-office setup and willingness and ability to travel across Canada for in-person events.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a police background check is required as a condition of employment.
- Salary of $60,000, commensurate with experience.
