Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cybersecurity Architect based in the United States.

This is a fully remote opportunity supporting an enterprise Zero Trust program for a U.S. Department of Defense client.

You will shape cybersecurity architecture and long-term security strategies for complex, distributed environments.

The role places a strong emphasis on Risk Management Framework (RMF) execution and achieving Authority to Operate (ATO).

You’ll assess cyber risks, develop mitigation strategies, and integrate security requirements across systems, networks, and applications.

You’ll collaborate closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, business partners, and vendors.

The position offers an opportunity to work with modern Zero Trust technologies while influencing mission-critical cybersecurity outcomes.

It is well suited to an experienced security professional who combines technical depth, risk expertise, and strong communication skills.

Accountabilities

    • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, architectures, policies, procedures, and security guidelines aligned with organizational objectives and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Lead RMF activities for large, distributed systems, including coordinating security controls, documentation, risk mitigation, and activities required to obtain and maintain an ATO.
    • Identify, analyze, and assess cybersecurity and IT risks, developing practical mitigation strategies and ensuring risks are appropriately documented and addressed.
    • Apply enterprise architecture principles to integrate security across infrastructure, applications, networks, and broader IT environments.
    • Support security incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
    • Coordinate and support vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, and other technical security evaluations.
    • Evaluate and apply Zero Trust security concepts, including identity and access management, network security, data protection, ZTNA, firewalls, intrusion detection, and DLP technologies.
    • Collaborate with government customers, IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to communicate requirements, resolve security challenges, and ensure program objectives are achieved.
    • Present cybersecurity risks, findings, and recommendations to government stakeholders and senior audiences.
    • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
    • Mentor junior cybersecurity professionals and help teams understand and apply effective security practices.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
      • 5-10 years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or IT risk management, with demonstrated experience working on complex technology environments.
      • Current Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
      • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.
      • Advanced cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC.
      • Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Network Architecture, security principles, and the technologies used to implement Zero Trust environments.
      • Deep expertise with DoD RMF controls, including correlating systems, networks, and applications with security controls, documenting remediation, and supporting ATO efforts.
      • Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, firewalls, VLANs, operating systems, and security configurations across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
      • Knowledge of data protection techniques such as encryption, pseudonymization, and data masking.
      • Experience with security audits, compliance requirements, regulatory standards, risk assessment, and mitigation practices.
      • Knowledge of secure coding, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, incident response, and cybersecurity best practices.
      • Familiarity with Zero Trust technologies including IAM, ZTNA, DLP, intrusion detection systems, and network security controls.
      • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to communicate complex technical and security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with government stakeholders.
      • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies, cybersecurity threats, and mission requirements.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive salary range of $149,469-$184,000 annually, with final compensation based on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.
        • Fully remote work with a full-flex work week designed to support work-life balance and individual priorities.
        • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plan options, including plans with Health Savings Accounts.
        • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching and pre- and post-tax contribution options.
        • Paid vacation, sick and personal leave, plus paid holidays.
        • Paid parental, military, bereavement, and jury-duty leave.
        • Up to 160 hours of paid family leave during a rolling 12-month period for eligible employees.
        • Professional development opportunities, including paid education and industry certifications.
        • Internal career mobility support and opportunities for professional growth.
        • Access to cutting-edge AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and software technologies.
        • Short- and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, critical illness, and other insurance options.
        • Approximately 25-50% travel may be required depending on mission and customer needs.
