Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer based in India.

This is a hands-on opportunity to turn emerging AI capabilities into practical solutions for real-world business challenges. You will work directly with business and technology stakeholders to identify high-value AI opportunities and rapidly transform ideas into working prototypes. The role spans Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, RAG, APIs, automation, and cloud technologies. You will own solutions across the full journey from concept and validation through production deployment and continuous improvement. Working closely with engineering, cloud, security, and DevOps teams, you will ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable. You’ll also help create reusable AI components and accelerate how future AI initiatives are delivered. Accountabilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and users to understand challenges, identify AI opportunities, and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Rapidly prototype, develop, validate, and deploy AI-powered applications for real-world business use cases.
• Build solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, RAG, APIs, automation, and related technologies.
• Drive AI initiatives end-to-end, taking solutions from concept and prototype through validation, production deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, prototyping, and deployment workflows.
• Demonstrate solutions directly to users, gather feedback, and iterate quickly based on real-world requirements and outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical opportunities to apply them to business problems.
• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, security, and DevOps teams to productionize AI solutions according to engineering best practices.
• Ensure delivered applications are secure, reliable, scalable, maintainable, and fit for production use.
• Develop reusable AI components, technical patterns, frameworks, and accelerators that can support future projects.
• Serve as a technical advisor and evangelist, building trust with business teams and helping them understand the practical potential of AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in software engineering, application development, automation, or a closely related technical role.
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable languages.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying Generative AI and LLM-based applications in practical or production environments.
• Solid experience with REST APIs, databases, Git, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to build reliable, maintainable applications.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work through ambiguous and rapidly evolving technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with RAG, AI agents, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering is preferred.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, MCP, tool-calling patterns, or similar AI frameworks is advantageous.
• Experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI is a plus.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as Docker, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices, is desirable.
• Previous experience in customer-facing engineering, consulting, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed roles is beneficial.
• A strong interest in emerging AI technologies and a passion for rapid experimentation and practical implementation are highly valued.
