As Head of Lifecycle & Brand Marketing, you will shape the end-to-end customer experience across acquisition, conversion, retention, and re-engagement. Reporting to the Chief Product & Marketing Officer, you will own lifecycle strategy while serving as the key voice of the customer and steward of the brand. You will connect customer insights, data, creative, technology, and communications to deliver consistent experiences across the customer journey. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership of CRM and omnichannel marketing programs, including email, SMS, and web. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, and executive leadership. In a highly regulated financial environment, you will drive innovation, experimentation, and responsible AI adoption while building lasting customer value.
Accountabilities:
- Own and evolve the overall customer lifecycle strategy across prospects, first-time customers, repeat customers, and disengaged customers, with a focus on acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Develop communication strategies that increase customer conversion across key touchpoints, including new loan origination and repayment journeys.
- Define the communications strategy and roadmap across Email, SMS, Website, and other relevant channels.
- Serve as the strategic owner of Braze architecture, ensuring lifecycle campaigns are effectively designed, executed, tested, and optimized.
- Partner with Data teams to analyze customer progression, build meaningful cohorts, identify lifecycle drop-off points, and uncover behaviors and interventions that increase customer value.
- Lead communications for operational and transactional experiences, including payments, servicing, and collections.
- Collaborate with Product leaders to connect marketing intelligence with technology and create seamless, engaging product experiences.
- Own lifecycle KPIs, monitor performance against business objectives, and regularly communicate key metrics and insights to senior leadership.
- Define and maintain brand and creative standards, including voice, tone, visual identity, and messaging across product lines and customer touchpoints.
- Represent brand and creative strategy within executive leadership discussions and contribute to company-wide go-to-market planning.
- Use customer insights, NPS, competitive intelligence, and business data to refine customer segments, positioning, brand identity, and overall customer experience.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary team spanning Lifecycle Marketing, Design, and Marketing Technology, with 4+ direct reports.
- Recruit and develop high-performing talent while fostering a culture of experimentation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish a structured test-and-learn environment focused on A/B testing, marketing efficiency, and measurable return on investment.
- Encourage responsible adoption of AI and emerging marketing technologies to improve customer engagement, campaign execution, and team productivity.
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with a strong focus on customer or lifecycle marketing.
- 6+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and developing marketing teams and professionals.
- Proven experience in FinTech or another highly regulated industry, with an understanding of relevant marketing laws and guidelines.
- Demonstrated expertise in omnichannel marketing and customer lifecycle strategy across acquisition, conversion, retention, and re-engagement.
- Hands-on experience delivering marketing through CRM platforms, particularly Braze.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, including tone of voice, messaging, visual identity, creative standards, and customer positioning.
- Ability to translate complex problems and ambiguous opportunities into clear strategic roadmaps and prioritized initiatives.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to use customer data, NPS, competitive insights, and business intelligence to inform decisions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and moving pieces while maintaining strong execution and business focus.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and executive leadership.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to represent both the customer perspective and the brand at senior levels.
- Experience identifying industry trends, emerging marketing practices, and opportunities for innovation.
- Familiarity with design, prototyping, project, program management, and development tools such as Figma, Monday, and Jira.
- A creative and strategic approach to navigating whitespace, defining new opportunities, and operating effectively within regulated environments.
- Base salary of $148,000-$222,000 USD.
