Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Humanities and Social Sciences Assignment Grader (Contract) based in India.

This remote contract role offers experienced educators and subject-matter experts an opportunity to evaluate college-level student assignments across Humanities and Social Sciences. You’ll review essays, case studies, reports, and other academic projects against established grading criteria. Your expertise will help assess student learning while providing thoughtful, constructive feedback that supports academic development. The role is well suited to professionals who enjoy applying their academic and teaching experience in a flexible environment. Work is completed entirely online and compensated on a per-piece basis. With no minimum or maximum workload, you can choose when, where, and how much you work.

Accountabilities

    • Evaluate college-level essays, case studies, reports, projects, and other assignments in your area of Humanities or Social Sciences expertise, applying grading criteria consistently and thoughtfully.
    • Assess student understanding, analytical ability, and application of course concepts while considering the quality and relevance of the submitted work.
    • Provide clear, constructive, and meaningful feedback that helps students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Apply rubrics and assignment guidelines fairly and consistently across submissions while using professional judgment when evaluating different approaches to a task.
    • Manage assigned grading work independently while maintaining accuracy, quality, and appropriate turnaround times.
    • Communicate with support staff when questions arise regarding grading criteria, assignments, or the overall evaluation process.
    • Contribute your academic and teaching expertise to an online learning environment designed to make higher education resources more accessible.
    • Requirements:

      • Hold an advanced academic degree, with a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant Humanities or Social Sciences discipline.
      • Have at least 1 year of teaching experience at a two-year college or four-year university, with university-level teaching experience preferred.
      • Demonstrate strong subject-matter expertise and the ability to evaluate college-level academic work accurately and objectively.
      • Have excellent written communication skills and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to learners.
      • Be thoughtful, collaborative, responsive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
      • Be able to interpret and consistently apply grading rubrics and academic evaluation criteria.
      • Demonstrate sound judgment when assessing work that may take creative or unconventional approaches while remaining aligned with assignment expectations.
      • Be comfortable managing your own workload and completing assignments according to agreed expectations without ongoing supervision.
      • Benefits:

        • Fully remote contract work that can be completed online from home.
        • Flexible schedule, allowing you to work when and where you want.
        • No minimum or maximum workload requirements, giving you control over how often you participate.
        • Per-piece compensation for completed grading assignments.
        • Payments twice a month with automated invoicing for completed work.
        • Supportive onboarding and staff assistance to help you get started and address questions throughout the contract.
        • An opportunity to apply your academic and teaching expertise to evaluate student learning and provide meaningful feedback.
        • A flexible opportunity that can complement other professional, academic, or teaching commitments.
