This role offers the opportunity to build AI-driven solutions that enhance enterprise monitoring and event management operations.
You will develop production-grade Python services and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that connect Large Language Models (LLMs) with downstream monitoring platforms.
Your work will automate event analysis, contextual enrichment, alert correlation, and intelligent incident insights.
You will help operational teams reduce alert noise and improve Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR).
The position combines advanced software engineering, AI workflow development, enterprise integration, and operational collaboration.
You will work closely with Event Management and Major Incident teams to transform real-world operational challenges into scalable technical solutions.
As a technical mentor, you will also contribute to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and reliable 24/7 monitoring capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize MCP servers and Python services that coordinate structured reasoning workflows between LLMs and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Build Python-based interfaces that generate and process MCP calls, enabling reliable communication between AI models and downstream operational systems.
- Develop end-to-end AI workflows in which LLMs interpret events, retrieve contextual information through MCP, and return enriched insights to monitoring platforms.
- Implement automated reasoning and correlation capabilities that analyze alerts, reduce unnecessary noise, recommend escalation paths, and provide enhanced incident context.
- Ensure Python-to-MCP-to-monitoring workflows meet high standards for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and operational resilience.
- Write and maintain production-grade Python code supporting 24/7/365 enterprise monitoring operations.
- Integrate new AI capabilities into existing event management, triage, incident response, and operational workflows.
- Partner with Event Management and Major Incident teams to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective AI-powered technical solutions.
- Support initiatives designed to reduce Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) through automated enrichment, improved event correlation, and intelligent insight generation.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and identify opportunities to introduce additional automation and AI capabilities.
- Serve as a technical mentor for Python development, MCP integrations, and AI-driven automation workflows.
- Provide clear and concise technical progress updates to operational leadership while promoting engineering quality and continuous improvement.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required; eight years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience, including expert-level proficiency in Python, is required.
- Demonstrated experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) or other artificial intelligence models with enterprise applications, automation platforms, or operational systems is required.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or comparable structured application programming interface (API) and orchestration frameworks is required.
- Experience supporting monitoring, event correlation, incident management, or comparable enterprise operations platforms is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with large-scale or federal technology environments is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to design structured interactions between AI models, MCP services, and downstream enterprise tools is preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise monitoring processes, event management, triage, and operational workflows is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and operational stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must satisfy applicable federal identification requirements and be able to update existing identification documents in a timely manner if necessary to complete the suitability process.
- Willingness to support Eastern Time working hours and travel to regional sites as needed.
- Annual compensation range of $110,000-$125,000.
