Midlevel Java Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Midlevel Java Developer based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve scalable software solutions within a technology-driven and collaborative environment. You will focus on back-end development using Java and Spring, contributing to microservices, APIs, and modern web applications. Your work will help deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions for complex business needs. You will take part in designing new capabilities, improving existing applications, and strengthening software quality through automated testing. The role also provides exposure to modern technologies such as cloud platforms, non-relational databases, Angular, and AI-enabled development practices. Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain APIs using Java and Spring within a microservices architecture.
• Implement new features and enhancements across web applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
• Write clean, efficient, well-structured code following software engineering best practices.
• Develop and maintain unit tests using JUnit to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with other developers and technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical discussions and help identify effective approaches for solving development challenges.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on application performance, maintainability, and development practices.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and contribute to the adoption of modern engineering approaches where appropriate.

Requirements

• Professional experience in Java software development, ideally at a mid-level.
• Solid knowledge of Java 8 through Java 21, with practical experience developing production applications.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with designing and developing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Practical experience implementing unit tests with JUnit.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and modern back-end development practices.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within development teams and communicate technical topics clearly.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies and development methodologies.
• Experience with non-relational databases is a plus.
• Experience with Angular or front-end development is a plus.
• Experience deploying or developing solutions on AWS is a plus.
• Familiarity with agentic SDLC concepts and AI-assisted software development is a plus.
• Candidates residing in the Campinas Metropolitan Region should be prepared to work from local offices in accordance with the applicable attendance policy.
