This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer based in Brazil.
This is a hands-on QA role focused on ensuring software products are reliable, thoroughly tested, and ready for production. You will work across manual testing, test automation, API validation, regression testing, defect management, and release readiness. The role provides broad exposure to SaaS quality engineering, from user-facing applications and integrations to backend services and performance testing. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle, identifying risks early rather than testing only at the end. Your work will directly contribute to preventing production issues and improving overall product quality. The environment suits a detail-oriented professional who enjoys investigating edge cases, solving problems, and continuously improving QA practices.
Accountabilities:
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and regression suites.
- Define appropriate test coverage for new features, integrations, critical user journeys, and existing functionality.
- Review product requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, and potential quality risks early in the development process.
- Perform manual functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, cross-browser, and cross-device testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Provide developers with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual behavior, screenshots or recordings, and relevant environment details.
- Retest fixes, validate resolved defects, and perform regression testing across impacted functionality.
- Build, maintain, and improve automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Automate repetitive and high-value regression scenarios and expand automation coverage where it provides meaningful value.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Investigate failed automated tests and distinguish product defects from test-script or environment-related issues.
- Test APIs and backend functionality using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools, validating responses, status codes, data integrity, error handling, and integrations.
- Support performance, load, and stress testing using tools such as Apache JMeter or Locust, identifying potential bottlenecks and reliability concerns.
- Support security and vulnerability testing when required.
- Validate builds before production deployment and provide clear assessments of release readiness, outstanding risks, and critical defects.
- Maintain accurate documentation covering test plans, test results, defects, regression suites, and quality metrics.
- Track and communicate quality indicators such as test coverage, defect trends, pass/fail rates, and production issues.
- Participate in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, release discussions, and other Agile activities.
- Work closely with developers and product stakeholders to reproduce issues, investigate root causes, validate fixes, and continuously improve QA processes.
- Advocate for software quality while maintaining an efficient balance between thorough testing and delivery speed.
- 2+ years of professional experience in quality assurance, software testing, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual software testing, including functional, regression, integration, and release validation.
- Practical experience documenting and managing defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with test management platforms such as TestRail or Zephyr.
- Experience with at least one test automation framework, such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, QA practices, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience creating structured, repeatable test cases and identifying edge cases and unexpected user scenarios.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or comparable tools.
- Understanding of automated testing and CI/CD workflows is highly valuable.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues effectively to developers and product stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of quality activities in a remote environment.
- Availability to work during U.S. business hours, with flexibility around releases and sprint deadlines.
- Experience testing SaaS or enterprise software products is a plus.
- Experience with performance testing using Apache JMeter or Locust is a plus.
- Exposure to security or vulnerability testing is a plus.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software engineering workflows is a plus.
- Experience improving automation coverage, regression strategies, or broader QA processes is an advantage.
- Fully remote working environment.
- Opportunity to work across manual and automated software testing.
- Hands-on exposure to UI, API, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Experience with modern automation frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Exposure to CI/CD and contemporary software engineering workflows.
- Close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams throughout the full SDLC.
- Opportunity to directly influence software quality and release readiness.
- Ability to contribute to the improvement of QA processes, automation coverage, and testing strategies.
- Professional growth opportunities across QA automation, quality engineering, software testing, and technical leadership.
- Potential career progression toward roles such as Senior QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, SDET, QA Lead, or Quality Engineering Manager.
