This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst based in Canada.
This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle. You will combine manual testing, test automation, and AI-assisted quality practices to improve coverage, accelerate defect detection, and reduce release risk. Working closely with Product Management, Development, and Customer Support, you will help translate requirements into effective testing strategies and reliable product outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to apply emerging AI technologies while using strong analytical judgment to validate their results. You will contribute to both day-to-day testing and the continuous improvement of QA processes and standards. This is a collaborative, detail-oriented environment suited to someone who enjoys solving problems and building high-quality software for customers.
Accountabilities:
- Review business and functional requirements for completeness, clarity, consistency, and testability, identifying potential risks and gaps early in the development process.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data covering functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and exploratory testing.
- Validate software releases against defined business requirements, technical expectations, and quality standards before deployment.
- Use AI-powered tools to accelerate the creation of test cases, scenarios, and test data while applying sound judgment to review and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Leverage Generative AI to analyze requirements, uncover testing gaps, identify edge cases and risks, and improve overall test coverage.
- Develop and refine prompts and AI-assisted workflows that improve the effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency of testing activities.
- Execute, maintain, and improve automated test scripts and regression suites, collaborating with development teams to increase automation coverage and software testability.
- Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to modern quality engineering practices.
- Document defects clearly and consistently using appropriate defect tracking tools, including relevant reproduction steps, evidence, severity, and impact.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues, support root cause analysis, and verify that defects have been successfully resolved.
- Track and communicate testing progress, quality metrics, release readiness, and potential risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Customer Support, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality objectives are achieved.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, testing methodologies, automation practices, and quality engineering best practices.
- Manage multiple milestones and projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting agreed deadlines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or a comparable quality engineering role.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing processes, test design techniques, and quality assurance best practices.
- Demonstrated experience creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including maintaining automated regression suites.
- Experience working with cloud-based environments such as AWS.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development or testing tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Experience with API testing and performance testing is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise software, ERP, financial systems, or SaaS applications is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns, risks, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- Ability to quickly develop a working understanding of complex products, interpret requirements, and recommend appropriate testing or quality solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
- Self-sufficient, resourceful, and comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
