This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Content Marketing Manager based in Canada.
This role offers end-to-end ownership of content strategy, production, distribution, and measurable business impact. You will shape the content roadmap, define the editorial point of view, and determine which ideas deserve investment and which formats will resonate most with target audiences. The position spans written content, video, audio, webinars, social media, interactive resources, templates, and other content experiences. You will balance hands-on creation with directing freelancers, creators, editors, and agency partners to scale production. Distribution and revenue attribution are equally important, with ownership extending from reach and engagement through trials, activations, purchases, and content-influenced pipeline. This is a high-autonomy opportunity within a lean, fully remote marketing environment where your decisions can directly influence growth and leadership priorities.
Accountabilities:
- Own the content strategy and roadmap, establishing a distinctive editorial point of view and deciding what content should be created, for which audience, in what format, and why.
- Develop content for a broad horizontal audience while adapting messaging and storytelling to relevant verticals such as healthcare, customer support, legal, insurance, education, and other target markets.
- Build and maintain a recognizable brand voice that is credible, differentiated, consistent, and appropriate across channels and formats.
- Produce and oversee a diverse portfolio of content, including long- and short-form articles, blog content, comparison and category pages, customer stories, product launch narratives, video, YouTube content, product walkthroughs, social clips, audio, webinars, live formats, templates, calculators, teardowns, and Snippet libraries.
- Balance hands-on content creation with strategic direction, determining when work should be produced personally and when it should be delegated to external specialists.
- Brief, manage, edit, and maintain a high quality bar across freelancers, writers, editors, video editors, creators, and agency partners.
- Own the distribution strategy across organic social, email and lifecycle channels, relevant communities, syndication, and in-product surfaces.
- Develop an efficient content repurposing engine that transforms major content assets into multiple derivative formats and placements without unnecessary duplication of effort.
- Support creator and PR initiatives by briefing creators, shaping sponsored and co-created content, and converting earned media and third-party coverage into longer-term content assets.
- Partner with search and marketing stakeholders to ensure content is optimized for organic search and emerging AI-powered answer and discovery surfaces.
- Own content performance measurement across the full funnel, tracking reach, trial starts, activations, purchases, revenue, and content-sourced or content-influenced pipeline.
- Use tools such as HubSpot, Sigma, Mixpanel, and Ahrefs to analyze performance, identify opportunities, retire underperforming initiatives, and forecast progress against targets.
- Report content performance and business contribution to the VP of Marketing and senior leadership, clearly connecting content activity to measurable commercial outcomes.
- Continuously experiment with new formats, channels, distribution approaches, technologies, and content strategies to improve reach and revenue contribution.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B content marketing, including experience within a self-serve or product-led SaaS environment.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to create or lead high-quality content across multiple formats and mediums.
- Proven experience distributing content effectively to hard-to-reach audiences, with a clear understanding of which channels, tactics, and messages generated meaningful results.
- Strong data fluency, with the ability to independently retrieve, interpret, and communicate performance metrics and distinguish activity metrics from indicators that meaningfully predict revenue.
- Experience briefing, directing, editing, and managing freelancers, creators, agencies, or other external content partners while maintaining a consistently high quality standard.
- Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to write quickly and clearly, identify valuable content opportunities, and determine which ideas are worth publishing.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively within the content creation process while preserving an authentic, distinctive, human editorial voice.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to connect content strategy, distribution, audience behavior, and commercial outcomes.
- High degree of self-direction and ownership, with the ability to prioritize independently in a lean environment with broad responsibilities and significant autonomy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with leadership, creators, marketing partners, and external contributors.
- Hands-on video production or editing experience is a plus.
- Experience with SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), particularly in the evolving post-AI search landscape, is highly valued.
- PR experience and a demonstrated ability to distribute content through earned media and third-party channels are advantageous.
- Experience working in a fully remote, distributed environment is beneficial.
- Competitive compensation: USD $120,000-$150,000 per year.
- Remote work: Fully remote position with a flexible schedule.
- High autonomy: Significant ownership over content strategy, production, distribution, measurement, and priorities.
- Creative ownership: Opportunity to build and shape a content and distribution engine with substantial influence over what gets created and how it reaches audiences.
- Leadership exposure: Direct proximity to senior leadership, allowing your work and insights to influence important business decisions.
- Healthcare: Healthcare plans are provided as part of the employment benefits package.
- Paid time off: Paid vacation and sick leave.
- Disability coverage: Company-paid short- and long-term disability insurance.
- Life insurance: Company-paid basic life insurance.
- Parental support: Paid parental leave policy.
- Retirement savings: 401(k) plan / RRSP plan.
- Collaborative environment: Work alongside motivated and creative teammates in a lean, fully remote organization.
- Meaningful impact: Build content that can directly influence audience reach, customer acquisition, activation, and revenue.
- Benefits and employment terms may vary based on location and applicable employment policies and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
