This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a GTM Associate based in Canada.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an early-stage sales development team focused on helping insurance agencies modernize the way they quote, manage, and serve their customers. You will play a key role in building pipeline through thoughtful, high-volume prospecting across phone, email, and social channels. The position combines sales development, market research, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback. You will have meaningful exposure to sales strategy, enablement, and emerging technologies. Successful performers are expected to progress quickly into closing opportunities and take on greater commercial ownership. Accountabilities:
- Identify, research, and engage prospective customers through targeted outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant social channels.
- Use prospecting and sales intelligence tools to identify decision-makers within existing target accounts and uncover new accounts based on customer fit and market potential.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline by consistently meeting or exceeding activity and meetings-booked targets.
- Monitor market developments, including executive moves, funding activity, industry conferences, and other relevant events, to identify timely opportunities for prospect engagement.
- Contribute to the development of sales enablement and marketing materials, while proactively recommending new strategies, tools, and technologies that could improve sales effectiveness.
- Conduct competitive research and market analysis to strengthen positioning and ensure the business remains highly competitive within its space.
- Act as an internal voice of the customer by sharing prospect and market feedback with leadership, particularly around product capabilities, pricing, customer needs, and emerging trends.
- Work closely with teammates across the organization, contributing to a collaborative sales culture where shared success is prioritized.
- Develop toward a closing role by building strong product knowledge, sales skills, customer understanding, and commercial judgment.
- 6-12 months of experience in a BDR, SDR, sales development, or similar customer-facing sales role.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed meetings-booked or comparable sales development quotas.
- Strong cold-calling skills and the confidence to initiate conversations with prospective customers and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently while demonstrating humility, empathy, and professionalism.
- Strong research and prospecting abilities, with the curiosity to understand target accounts, industries, customer needs, and market dynamics.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use sales and marketing technologies such as HubSpot, LinkedIn, Loom, Gong, Chorus, and related automation or sales enablement platforms.
- Team-oriented mindset, recognizing that effective selling requires collaboration, knowledge sharing, and support across the broader team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and individuals are expected to take ownership and find creative solutions.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Challenger is a plus.
- Participation in sales communities such as Pavilion or OnDeck is a plus.
- Experience selling APIs, data products, or infrastructure-based solutions is advantageous.
- Experience in insurance, payments, banking, FinTech, InsurTech, MarTech, or SalesTech is a plus.
- Experience working at a high-growth startup that scaled significantly during your tenure is highly valued.
- A proactive, ambitious approach to sales and a clear desire to progress into a closing role are strongly preferred.
- Competitive compensation: On-target earnings of $70,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
