Senior Software Engineer (C#, .Net, Azure)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (C#, .NET, Azure) based in India.

You will play a hands-on role across the full Software Development Lifecycle, from requirements refinement and design through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.

The role combines modern software engineering practices with cloud technologies to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality applications and services.

You will collaborate closely with customers, stakeholders, product teams, and fellow engineers to ensure solutions address the right business needs.

As a senior technical contributor, you will influence architecture, participate in design and code reviews, and help establish strong engineering standards.

You will also mentor and coach other Software Engineers while contributing to continuous improvement across processes, practices, and technology.

Accountabilities

• Communicate proactively with customers, stakeholders, and product teams, actively contributing to requirements refinement and building a shared understanding of business needs.
• Maintain current expertise in relevant programming languages, tools, technologies, platforms, organizational standards, and modern software development practices.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies to manage work effectively, reduce work in progress, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Design, document, develop, refactor, debug, test, maintain, monitor, and support secure, high-quality software applications, services, infrastructure, and engineering tooling.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop well-engineered technical solutions that deliver measurable value to customers.
• Lead and participate in technical design reviews and code reviews, providing and receiving objective feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
• Support software estimation, planning, scheduling, and resource management activities.
• Mentor and coach Software Engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, training opportunities, and leading by example.
• Evaluate software, engineering processes, and development practices using appropriate measurements and monitoring to identify and implement improvements.
• Assess potential technical approaches against business requirements, evaluating feasibility, trade-offs, and relative merits to determine appropriate solutions.
• Investigate complex software issues, identify root causes, and implement practical, efficient, and sustainable technical solutions while introducing process improvements to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• Bring 6+ years of experience working across the full Software Development Lifecycle and in Object-Oriented Programming.
• Have at least 4 years of experience with automated developer testing and with C# and .NET development.
• Demonstrate strong experience with .NET Core Web API and modern software development practices.
• Have 4+ years of experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Bring at least 2 years of experience with a major public cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Have hands-on experience with Docker, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of software design patterns, including SOLID principles, as well as enterprise architecture and integration patterns.
• Have practical experience with source control, Git, and GitHub.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing practices, debugging, system design, and production support.
• Experience developing multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products using Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) services is desirable.
• Experience with Azure services such as App Service, Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and App Configuration is advantageous.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, SonarCloud, CodeQL, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) is beneficial.
• Experience with Python development and working in start-up or other dynamic environments is desirable.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and Sprint-based delivery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and experience developing front-end applications with Angular are beneficial.
• Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Be comfortable working independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative engineering team.
• Be willing to mentor colleagues and actively contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
