This is a senior data governance opportunity focused on strengthening the quality, accessibility, security, and value of critical HR data. You will help shape and execute a strategic data governance roadmap while driving measurable improvements in data quality and governance maturity. The role combines hands-on data analysis with governance strategy, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and data access controls. You will work closely with senior leaders, business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to identify and resolve critical data challenges. The position also offers an opportunity to introduce AI and emerging technologies into data quality management and issue detection. Your work will help establish consistent data standards, improve decision-making, and create sustainable value across functions and geographies.
Accountabilities:
- Deliver against the HR Data Governance strategy and roadmap, ensuring priorities translate into measurable business and customer value.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Data Quality processes that enable proactive identification, prevention, and resolution of data issues.
- Evolve existing Data Quality capabilities by exploring AI and emerging technologies, including AI-driven detection and analysis of data quality issues.
- Own priority Data Quality and Data Domain requirements, working closely with the Data Governance Director and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Establish and maintain frameworks, controls, metrics, and processes to improve data quality, security, profiling, and overall governance maturity.
- Support metadata management activities, including data definitions, lineage, classification, catalog maintenance, and governance of critical HR data elements.
- Support data access controls for global data products and contribute to the secure and appropriate use of organizational data.
- Identify gaps, risks, opportunities, and critical data issues across HR data, implementing controls to detect problems before they affect downstream users or business processes.
- Harmonize data definitions and flows across functions and geographies while identifying and addressing global issues involving critical data attributes and elements.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, analytics, and KPIs that provide senior leadership with clear visibility into Data Quality priorities, risks, progress, and governance maturity.
- Establish measurable KPIs and key results to track improvements in Data Quality and the effectiveness of governance initiatives.
- Engage with HR, BI & Analytics, Finance, customers, users, and business leaders to understand data opportunities and translate them into actionable governance priorities.
- Prioritize data opportunities and communicate requirements, dependencies, risks, decisions, and mitigation plans clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Support broader Data Governance capabilities spanning Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture, and Data Product development.
- Ensure adherence to relevant data policies, standards, and guidelines while maintaining governance artefacts such as data catalogs, classifications, definitions, and data quality standards.
- 6+ years of total professional experience, including at least 3 years in data-focused or project-oriented roles such as Data Management, Data Governance, a CDO Office, or BI & Analytics.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of data quality tools, databases, data warehousing, and data analysis techniques.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Hands-on experience with Data Governance technologies, particularly data catalog and data quality platforms such as Informatica Data Catalog or comparable solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex data quality issues, determine root causes, and develop practical solutions.
- Understanding of recognized Data Governance frameworks and industry best practices, such as DAMA’s DMBoK, CDMP, or the EDM Council’s DCAM.
- Knowledge of HR data domains and constructs is preferred, with familiarity with systems such as Workday, iCIMS, Eightfold.ai, Oracle, or SAP considered an advantage.
- Solid understanding of modern data technologies and the ability to connect technical data concepts with business requirements and outcomes.
- Experience developing data governance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, controls, or maturity metrics is highly valuable.
- Ability to work across multiple functions and geographies while engaging effectively with business, technical, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain complex data issues clearly and drive alignment around priorities.
