As our next Automation Project Specialist (Machine Build, Robotics/PLC Service), you’ll be at the forefront of programming, commissioning, and supporting advanced automation systems. Your expertise in robotics, PLC programming, and industrial automation will be crucial in delivering high-performance manufacturing equipment and ensuring operational excellence across multiple sites.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Program, debug, and commission PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion systems
- Troubleshoot and optimize robotic cells, including vision and force monitoring systems
- Support design, build, and startup of automation equipment and assembly lines
- Modify existing production equipment and develop new automation solutions
- Configure industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, etc.)
- Develop or modify LabVIEW-based programs for automation systems
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams during design and implementation
- Support equipment commissioning at customer sites and provide technical support
- Prepare technical documentation including manuals, setup procedures, and schematics
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Technical diploma or degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience • 5+ years of experience in an automation or controls environment • Expert knowledge of PLC programming (Omron NJ, Allen Bradley) • Experience with robot programming (Fanuc, Yaskawa, KUKA) • Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems • Experience with industrial controls, automation systems, and troubleshooting
- Must be able to train the first two months at our Ancaster facility with the eventual move to Mississauga.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with LabVIEW programming and applications
- Knowledge of SQL databases and related systems
- Experience with electrical design tools (e.g., EPLAN)
- Experience in automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 environments
