Role Purpose
The Senior Surveyor will specialize in providing valuation advice in this high-value, rapidly changing market. You'll work across a broad range of asset types, principally involving core office, retail, industrial and PRS sectors, delivering expert guidance to major banks and investors among a diverse spectrum of local, national and international clients.
This role requires on-site presence to enable real-time collaboration with internal teams, direct client engagement, and accelerated professional development through exposure to senior professionals. You'll provide specialist advice based on thorough sector knowledge through wider collaboration with our market-leading capital markets, agency, research and management teams.
What This Job Involves
Valuation & Advisory Services You'll provide one-off and portfolio valuations and specialist advice on a wide range of properties across multiple geographies to a variety of clients, many of whom are core clients of the firm. Your work will include preparing formal Red Book compliant valuation reports for secured lending, financial reporting, and investment purposes.
Property Assessment & Inspection Conducting comprehensive site inspections and producing detailed property inspection reports will be central to your role, requiring physical presence at various property locations to ensure accurate and thorough assessments.
Client Relationship Management Maintaining a high standard of client service and delivery is essential. You'll provide client-facing support requiring immediate response and relationship building, serving as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Direct collaboration with other departments including agency, property management, and investment teams is critical. On-site presence improves communication efficiency with internal teams and enables seamless coordination across functions.
Technical Analysis & Reporting You'll perform technical valuation work using specialized software including Excel and Argus Enterprise, requiring access to firm systems and senior supervision to ensure quality and accuracy.
Business Development & Professional Growth Assisting in generating new business opportunities while participating in team meetings and training sessions essential for your ongoing professional development and the firm's collective success.
Desired Skills and Experience
Professional Qualifications
- MRICS qualified with minimum 1-3 years post-qualification experience in commercial property valuation
- Strong understanding of Red Book valuation standards and compliance requirements
Technical Competencies
- Financial modelling skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel are essential
- Knowledge of Argus Enterprise is desirable
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook essential
Core Competencies
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Flexible approach and demonstrated ability as a team player
- Strong verbal and numerical skills with comfort in report writing
- Customer-service driven with excellent interpersonal skills
