This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership and partners with product owners, architects, administrators, analysts, and delivery teams to translate business outcomes into secure, supportable platform capabilities.

Our Team

This position is part of the Georgia-Pacific Building Products IT team. The team delivers and supports connected customer, sales, service, commerce, marketing, and experience capabilities across Salesforce and integrated enterprise platforms, including SAP and Middleware technologies. The Senior Salesforce Developer will help establish engineering practices, improve platform reliability, and guide delivery across onshore and offshore resources.

What You Will Do

  • Own the technical design and hands-on development of Salesforce capabilities using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, platform events, APIs, and other appropriate declarative and programmatic tools.
  • Translate user stories and business requirements into scalable technical designs, balancing configuration and custom code while considering security, performance, maintainability, platform limits, and user experience.
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using REST and SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, SAP CPI, event-driven patterns, and secure authentication approaches.
  • Lead technical delivery through estimation, solution design, code reviews, unit and system testing, defect resolution, release planning, and production deployment across the Salesforce development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain automated test classes, reusable components, coding standards, technical specifications, data models, data dictionaries, runbooks, and support documentation.
  • Apply secure development practices, including sharing enforcement, object- and field-level access controls, permission-based design, Lightning Web Security, and protection against common web application vulnerabilities.
  • Design solutions for large data volumes, bulk processing, asynchronous workloads, error handling, observability, and operational support.
  • Partner with Salesforce administrators, architects, product owners, business analysts, quality engineering, cybersecurity, and developers for connected systems to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Support and improve DevOps and release-management practices, including source control, automated validation, environment management, deployment readiness, and post-release monitoring.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams, help resolve complex production issues, and identify opportunities to modernize existing code and reduce technical debt.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience developing and implementing Salesforce solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, middleware, or event-driven integration patterns.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, debugging complex issues, performing code reviews, and applying Salesforce coding and security practices.
  • Experience translating technical or functional requirements into solution designs and technical specifications for delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience using source control and deployment or DevOps practices to promote Salesforce configuration and code through multiple environments.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification; Platform Developer II, JavaScript Developer I, Platform App Builder, with Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, B2B Commerce, or Marketing Cloud in a multi-cloud enterprise environment.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with SAP ERP or S/4HANA through MuleSoft, SAP CPI, or comparable integration platforms.
  • Experience with large data volumes, data migration, bulkification, asynchronous Apex, platform events, and enterprise monitoring or observability.
  • Experience coordinating technical delivery across onshore and offshore development teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
