Principal Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Engineer who can drive 0-1 product thinking, architect highly scalable systems, and remain deeply hands-on with technology. This role requires strong ownership across architecture, design, and execution, while influencing engineering standards across teams. You will work closely with product, business, and engineering leadership to build next-generation digital banking and lending systems.

Responsibilities:

• Drive architecture design for large-scale, distributed fintech systems.
• Lead 0-1 product development initiatives from concept to production.
• Design and build highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Mentor senior engineers and drive engineering excellence.
• Define and enforce design patterns, coding standards, and system design principles.
• Work closely with product and business stakeholders on solution design.
• Evaluate and drive adoption of new technologies and architectural patterns.
• Ensure systems are built for performance, reliability, security, and scale.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in system design and architecture.
• Deep hands-on expertise in design patterns and clean architecture.
• Strong experience building distributed systems/microservices architecture.
• Strong coding expertise in one or more backend stacks (Java / Kotlin / Go / Node.js / Python preferred).
• Experience working on high-scale consumer-facing platforms (B2C preferred).
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture (AWS / GCP / Azure).
• Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and caching strategies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience in product-based start-ups or product engineering organizations.
• Strong exposure to 0-1 or early-stage product building.
• Prior experience in fintech/digital banking/lending platforms is a plus.
• Proven track record of solving complex engineering problems at scale.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate with high autonomy.

Education:

• BE / BTech from Tier 1 institutes preferred.
• (IIT / IIIT / NIT / BITS or equivalent premier institutes).
