The Role
We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central Technical Consultant / Solution Architect with deep expertise in legacy NAV environments and modern Business Central platforms. The role focuses on analyzing, supporting, and enhancing customized NAV solutions, resolving complex technical issues, managing integrations with enterprise applications, and leading upgrade and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C/AL, AL, SQL Server, APIs, data migration, and solution design, along with the ability to independently assess existing systems, identify dependencies and risks, and implement reliable, scalable solutions while ensuring business continuity.
Responsibilities
Take technical ownership of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and Dynamics 365 Business Central environments, ensuring stability, performance, and ongoing support.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance customized NAV solutions using C/AL, C/SIDE, and AL development.
Design, develop, and maintain NAV/Business Central objects, including Tables, Pages, Reports, Codeunits, and XMLports.
Manage and support integrations with external applications using Web Services, REST APIs, SOAP, XML, and JSON.
Perform SQL Server and T-SQL analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to maintain application efficiency.
Lead NAV upgrade, migration, and modernization initiatives, including transition from legacy C/AL-based NAV to AL-based Business Central environments.
Conduct technical assessments to identify customizations, dependencies, risks, and obsolete functionality, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while ensuring data integrity, seamless system integration, and business continuity.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
10+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), including legacy NAV environments, customizations, and solution support.
Strong expertise in C/AL and C/SIDE development for application enhancement, troubleshooting, code maintenance, and customization.
Extensive experience working with NAV objects such as Tables, Pages, Forms, Reports, Codeunits, and XMLports.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including performance tuning, database troubleshooting, and NAV data model analysis.
Experience in analyzing and maintaining customized NAV solutions, application dependencies, and complex business processes.
Strong knowledge of system integration technologies, including REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services, XML/JSON, and third-party application interfaces.
Proven experience in NAV upgrades, migration planning, modernization initiatives, and transitioning from C/AL-based NAV to AL-based Dynamics 365 Business Central environments.
Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, including solution design, effort estimation, risk assessment, data migration, and implementation.
