Leidos is an American technology and engineering services company created in 2013 when Science Applications International Corporation split in two, with Leidos taking the technical services and solutions business. It is one of the largest suppliers to the United States government, working across defence programmes, intelligence systems, civil agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration, and healthcare services for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the company also builds security detection products for airports and borders, and has concentrated recent investment on trusted artificial intelligence and autonomy for mission environments.

Leidos is hiring an IT Asset Administrator to support the ESA V program. The ESA V program provides IT services to several federal customers, including help desk, asset management, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering and maintenance, managed print services, ITSM, Active Directory services, and video conferencing, among others.

Leidos has an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to serve as part of the Asset Management team supporting our customer from our Downtown Washington, DC office. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day IT asset activities, maintaining accurate asset records, coordinating equipment deployments and replacements, and providing technical support for end-user computing devices. This position will also provide Tier 2 deskside support as needed, working collaboratively with other IT support teams to resolve technical issues and ensure continuity of customer operations.

Location: 100% onsite in Washington, DC (parking costs not covered)

ESA V prides itself on providing high-quality customer support. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical troubleshooting abilities, and a customer service-focused approach. This position requires an individual capable of working independently, prioritizing competing demands, resolving technical issues, and coordinating with other support teams to ensure customer needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

All work is tracked through an IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing system, which is used to monitor performance against established service level agreements and measure support effectiveness. Staff are responsible for maintaining accurate and timely ticket documentation, communicating status updates, and ensuring assigned work is completed in accordance with program requirements.

The technology environment includes Windows-based laptops and desktops, Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, and other enterprise IT tools. Candidates should have demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based enterprise environments, managing IT assets, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

The selected candidate will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer's information. A current clearance is not required; however, the selected individual cannot begin the assignment until the required access is granted by the customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT asset management activities, including receiving, inventory tracking, deployment, transfers, returns, and disposition of IT equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete asset records in the asset management database, ensuring accountability and adherence to established asset management processes.
  • Coordinate and process break/fix requests, equipment replacements, new seat deployments, and associated end-user documentation.
  • Perform workstation imaging, configuration, data backup and recovery, hardware diagnostics, and equipment repairs.
  • Provide Tier 2 deskside technical support as needed, including troubleshooting and resolving escalated hardware, software, and end-user computing issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving Windows workstations, peripheral devices, and standard enterprise applications.
  • Create, manage, and resolve incidents and service requests using ServiceNow, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution in accordance with established service level agreements.
  • Work independently to investigate and resolve operational and technical issues, escalating complex problems when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with help desk, deskside support, workstation engineering, and other technical teams to facilitate issue resolution and equipment deployments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset tracking accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer support processes.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced IT support environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant IT experience, including asset management, desktop support, or related technical support activities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT hardware assets and maintaining accurate inventory and lifecycle records.
  • Experience providing technical support in a Windows-based enterprise environment, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot moderately complex technical issues and identify appropriate resolutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with end users and technical teams.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance/access prior to the start date.
  • Ability to maintain required Public Trust access throughout employment.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using an ITSM ticketing system, preferably ServiceNow.
  • Experience providing Tier 2 deskside support in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management, inventory control, and hardware deployment processes.
  • Experience with Windows workstation imaging, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Department of Justice components or other federal government customers.
  • Active Public Trust access with the Department of Justice.
