Leidos is seeking a Power Systems Planning Engineer to join our team in Pune, India to support power system studies for data centers, renewable generation/collector stations, microgrids, and utility systems. The candidate will primarily perform studies using ETAP, SKM, CYME, Synergi, and Windmil and work under the direction of senior technical leads. The candidate will support EPC projects by performing engineering design studies and providing technical recommendations to support electrical system design.
Responsibilities
- Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, effective grounding, arc-flash, harmonics, TOV, and insulation coordination studies.
- Develop and maintain power system models primarily in ETAP, SKM, CYME, Synergi, and Windmil.
- Support EPC engineering design studies for data centers, renewable/BESS interconnections, collector stations, and microgrid projects.
- Develop technical reports, recommendations, and mitigation solutions based on study results.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support client technical discussions.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience with ETAP, SKM, CYME, Synergi, and Windmil, and power system analysis.
- Experience with load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Knowledge of applicable IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and utility standards.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with data centers, renewable/collector systems, BESS, or microgrids.
- Distribution planning experience using CYME, Synergi Electric, WindMil, or similar tools.
- Experience with PSCAD, ASPEN, PSS®E, or other power system analysis tools is a plus.
- Experience with DigSilent and Easypower is a plus.
