About the role
Implement and improve practical security controls for systems and services, helping teams detect risks, respond to incidents and verify that remediation works.
Key responsibilities
Review system and cloud configurations and implement approved hardening measures.
Investigate security alerts and support incident triage, containment and evidence preservation.
Coordinate authorized vulnerability assessments and prioritize remediation by risk and exposure.
Improve logging, access controls and detection rules with operations and development teams.
Validate fixes and contribute to secure deployment, backup recovery and resilience reviews.
Document findings, response procedures and technical recommendations in actionable terms.
Requirements
- Essential requirements
- Practical knowledge of operating systems, networking, identity management and common attack paths.
- Experience using security logs and tools to investigate issues and validate corrective actions.
- Ability to assess vulnerabilities responsibly within an explicitly authorized scope.
- Understanding of secure configuration, least privilege and protection of sensitive information.
- Ability to explain risk clearly and collaborate on remediation without unnecessary service disruption.
- Preferred qualifications
- Experience with cloud security, endpoint protection, SIEM tools or scripting for security operations.
- Relevant security certification, documented lab work or contributions to defensive security projects.
