Senior Fullstack Engineer (Design Systems)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fullstack Engineer to join one of our client's strategic initiatives, focusing on the development and evolution of an enterprise-scale Design System. This is a unique hybrid role combining software engineering with design system expertise, ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable UI foundations rather than feature-focused applications.

You will work closely with Product Designers, Engineering Leads, and the client's Design System team to create reusable, production-ready components that improve consistency, accessibility, and development efficiency across multiple products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-ready UI components within an enterprise Design System.

• Build reusable, scalable, and accessible React components following established architecture and engineering standards.

• Work with design tokens, component variants, and multi-brand design patterns while identifying opportunities to improve the system.

• Collaborate with Product Designers and Engineering Leads to deliver technically sound, responsive, and accessible-by-default solutions.

• Create and maintain high-quality component documentation, including usage guidelines, accessibility recommendations, and implementation best practices.

• Participate in design system governance, design reviews, and cross-functional technical discussions.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools where they improve productivity while maintaining code quality, consistency, and accessibility.

• Continuously contribute to the evolution and scalability of the enterprise Design System.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining enterprise Design Systems or large-scale component libraries.

• Strong commercial experience with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience delivering production-ready UI components, not only implementing design mockups.

• Advanced knowledge of Figma, including component libraries, variables, design tokens, and Auto Layout.

• Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation platforms.

• Solid understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA and accessibility-first development practices.

• Experience working with design tokens, reusable component architecture, and scalable UI patterns.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Experience working in Agile environments and participating in iterative software delivery.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted coding solutions.

• Experience designing and maintaining multi-brand or multi-product Design Systems.

• Understanding of cross-platform component architecture beyond web applications.

• Experience participating in Design System governance processes and enterprise UI standardization initiatives.
