Maintenance Manager

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing and Process Engineering Manager, you as a Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and sustainable availability of machines, molds, tooling, and production assets through the implementation and execution of world-class maintenance and asset management strategies. You will lead the maintenance organization in the transformation from a reactive maintenance environment into a reliable, preventive, and performance-driven function focused on equipment uptime, operational excellence, and asset lifecycle management.

You will serve as the leader of the plant maintenance function, driving TPM implementation, asset reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Quality, EHS, Facilities, Purchasing, MRO Warehouse, and external service providers to ensure equipment performance, safety compliance, and operational continuity.

About the Job:

• Lead the site's maintenance organization, ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of manufacturing equipment, molds, tooling, and supporting assets.
• Develop and implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies and reliability strategies to improve asset performance and reduce downtime.
• Define asset criticality, maintenance strategies, preventive and predictive maintenance plans, job plans, and reliability improvement roadmaps.
• Manage preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), shutdown planning, resource allocation, material requirements, and execution schedules.
• Drive equipment reliability by leading troubleshooting activities, failure analysis, root cause investigations (RCA/FRACAS), and permanent corrective actions.
• Transform the maintenance organization from a reactive approach into a proactive and data-driven maintenance culture.
• Manage maintenance planning processes including backlog prioritization, weekly scheduling, work order execution, and CMMS governance.
• Oversee spare parts management, critical inventory strategies, obsolescence planning, MRO optimization, and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with equipment safety regulations, machine guarding requirements, LOTO programs, legal inspections, permits, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 40 maintenance professionals, contractors, and support personnel, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational engagement.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, downtime reduction, maintenance costs, and overall asset effectiveness.
• Support digitalization and modernization initiatives through maintenance management technologies, Power BI, AI tools, and Power Apps solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to support production goals, capacity requirements, new equipment implementation, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Drive contractor performance, supplier relationships, technical standards, and maintenance best practices across the facility.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in industrial maintenance environments.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams, reliability programs, or maintenance planning functions.
• Hands-on experience implementing TPM, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and maintenance management systems.
• Strong knowledge of Asset Management principles and maintenance system implementation.
• Experience driving maintenance transformation initiatives and building maintenance processes from a foundational level.
• Strong understanding of RCM, FMEA, RCA, FRACAS, and equipment reliability methodologies.
• Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CMMS administration, work order management, maintenance planning, and backlog control.
• Knowledge of MRO inventory management, spare parts strategies, critical spares identification, and obsolescence management.
• Experience tracking and improving maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, availability, downtime, and maintenance costs.
• Knowledge of machine safety systems, LOTO programs, compliance requirements, and industrial safety standards.
• Experience leading large maintenance organizations, including teams of approximately 40 employees.
• Technical English proficiency with the ability to work with manuals, suppliers, troubleshooting documentation, and global stakeholders.
• Experience with presses, Bihler equipment, molding, welding, painting, assembly operations, molds, or tooling is considered a strong advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Balanced leadership style with the ability to operate strategically while remaining actively involved in plant-floor execution and problem resolution.
• Results-oriented professional with a strong continuous improvement mindset and passion for operational excellence.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
