Kyvos / GCP BigQuery Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Principal Technical Architect with 11–15 years of experience in data architecture, data modelling, and semantic modelling.

Hands-on expertise in Kyvos semantic modelling is mandatory, along with strong experience in GCP BigQuery, advanced SQL, and enterprise data modelling.

This client-facing, hands-on individual contributor (IC) role requires a self-driven architect who can independently lead technical discussions, own solution architecture, and translate business requirements into scalable data and semantic models. The architect will drive solutions from design through implementation with minimal supervision.

Architecture and Solution Delivery

·Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable data and semantic-layer solutions using Kyvos and GCP BigQuery.

·Design, develop, optimise, and troubleshoot Kyvos semantic models; hands-on delivery is mandatory.

··Build high-performance semantic layers for enterprise-scale analytics, business intelligence (BI), and reporting.

··Translate business and analytical requirements into robust logical, physical, and semantic data models.

·Optimise complex queries, data pipelines, and data structures using advanced ANSI SQL and BigQuery best practices.

·Own architecture, modelling, performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and end-to-end solution delivery as a hands-on IC.

·Independently analyse complex technical problems and drive them to resolution.

Client Engagement and Technical Leadership

·Lead client-facing technical discussions, architecture reviews, solution walkthroughs, design workshops, and technical decision-making.

·Explain architecture choices, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

·Gather requirements, perform impact analysis, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

·Collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineering, BI, analytics, and platform teams to integrate semantic models into the broader data ecosystem.

·Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers while retaining hands-on ownership.

·Take responsibility for solution outcomes without requiring continuous direction.

Governance, Standards, and Quality

·Promote best practices and reusable approaches across data modelling, semantic modelling, data warehousing, performance optimisation, and cloud data platforms.

··Incorporate data governance, security, quality, and compliance requirements into architecture and modelling decisions.

··Conduct design and code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of data and semantic-modelling solutions.

·Maintain architecture documentation, modelling standards, design decisions, and technical specifications.

Mandatory Skills and Core Knowledge

·Kyvos: Strong hands-on expertise in semantic modelling, including model design, development, optimisation, and troubleshooting.

·GCP BigQuery: Strong hands-on experience.

·Data modelling: Expertise in logical and physical data modelling, semantic data modelling, and semantic-layer architecture.

··SQL: Advanced ANSI SQL skills.

··Technical architecture: Client-facing architecture experience and hands-on individual contributor capability.

·Solution ownership: An independent, self-driven approach to end-to-end delivery.

· Governance: Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.

Critical Screening Requirement

Candidates must have hands-on Kyvos semantic modelling experience to be considered. This role requires a client-facing technical IC architect who can independently design, develop, optimise, and troubleshoot Kyvos semantic models, lead technical architecture discussions, and deliver solutions end to end.
