Assistant Manager, Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting (Contract)

Position Responsibilities:

The Assistant Manager, Fund Services will be a key member of the team within Asia Operations Team responsible for managing all aspects of Fund accounting, Fund financial reporting and fund expenses with primary focus on the Company's Hong Kong Managed Funds platform including but not limited to:

  • Fund accounting & financial reporting:

  • Coordinate the preparation of financial reports for pension/HK fund platforms with relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Oversee the update key sections (main financial statements, notes, disclosures)

  • Perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data used in the financial reports

  • Coordinate fee approvals and documentation with external fund administrators, Finance team etc.

  • Fund audit coordination & efficient delivery

  • Coordinate end-to-end fund/MPF APIF scheme audit activities, including timelines, deliverables, and submissions. Develop and maintain audit timelines and coordinate feedback from multiple stakeholders

  • Prepare and submit audit deliverables (e.g. financial statements, audit files, supporting schedules)

  • Work with auditors (EY, KPMG) on walkthroughs, data requests, and scope alignment. Expertly manage audit data integrity issues

  • Stakeholder coordination & cross-functional alignment

  • Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Product etc. and external parties to resolve data and process issues

  • Drive internal discussions and decision-making on effective globally aligned operational approaches and ownership

  • Data Management, Analysis & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate data discrepancies and validate financial data and fund NAV queries

  • Manage multi-source data

  • External Party & Vendor Coordination and oversight. Keep abreast of relevant financial, tax and accounting developments in Asia and share relevant impact on the Funds with stakeholders.

  • Communication, reporting and management updates on audit progress, project work, regulatory changes relating to pension platforms

Projects including:

  • Supporting new Fund/Platform set-up

  • Fund events

  • Any other matters on reporting and accounting related to Fund

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree with recognized professional designation with majors in accounting.

  • 5-7+ years’ work experience in financial reporting for investment funds (Prior experience in Big 4 accounting firms strongly preferred).

  • Strong IFRS/ HKFRS/ Lux GAAP and regulatory financial reporting knowledge in investment funds including tax related issues (Hong Kong, Singapore etc.).

  • Knowledgeable in Mutual Fund Net Asset Value calculations, fund accounting practices, dividend distribution and fee calculation.

  • Strong business partnering, interpersonal skills with experience of negotiating and influencing across a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (preferred).

  • Have an outward-looking, people-oriented personality with great communication skills with the ability to cater a message to various stakeholders, including senior executive and non-technical audiences.

  • Minimal travelling may be required.
