Manulife is a Canadian insurance and asset management group founded in Toronto in 1887, with the first Canadian prime minister as its founding president. It sells life and health insurance, annuities and retirement products in Canada, the United States under the John Hancock brand and across a dozen Asian markets, and runs Manulife Investment Management as a global asset manager for institutional and retail clients. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, it earns a growing share of its profit in Asia and has been reducing its exposure to legacy long-term care liabilities through reinsurance transactions.

The role improves employee experience and the way People Operations delivers its services. The role works with People teams and partners to improve HR platforms, simplify processes, reduce manual work, strengthen data quality, and provide useful insights for better decisions. Success is measured by improvement outcomes-not transaction volume.

Position Responsibilities:

HR Platforms (40%): Maintain and improve the technology foundation.

  • Drive the effective use and continuous improvement of Workday, AskHR, and related employee-service platforms.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and coordinate enhancements and issue resolution with People teams, Technology, regional partners, and vendors.
  • Lead testing, data validation, release readiness, documentation, training, implementation, and post-launch support.

Process Excellence, Automation & Insights (60%): Improve employee experience and business outcomes through simpler processes, digital solutions, and data-driven decisions.

  • Partner with People teams to understand service needs, assess end-to-end processes, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Redesign processes and self-service experiences to improve simplicity, efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Lead the delivery of automation and digital solutions from requirements and solution design through testing, deployment, and stabilization.
  • Use service data, dashboards, and workforce insights to guide priorities, monitor performance, and support decisions.
  • Ensure solutions follow approved technology, data privacy, security, and control standards.

Drive stakeholder readiness, user adoption, and continuous improvement, with clear ownership and measurable benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in People Operations, HR technology, process improvement, or digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday or a similar HR platform, including requirements gathering, testing, releases, data validation, implementation, and user adoption.
  • Experience in process improvement and at least one of the following areas: automation, reporting, or dashboard development.
  • Good knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, data privacy, internal controls, and HR compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with effective written and verbal communication in English and Vietnamese.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform or similar low-code automation and data visualization tools.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.

  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.

  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
