Job Overview

Enjoy keeping details organized while keeping people moving? Marvin is hiring an Assistant Supervisor of Logistics in Ripley to provide clerical support for our logistics operation and serve as a key point of contact for drivers. In this role, you’ll support accurate driver payroll and pay-card administration, monitor transportation activity, and communicate with drivers and customers when questions or delays arise. You’ll also help drivers navigate everyday technology issues and support the department as priorities change.

You’ll excel if you bring strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, technology proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Previous logistics experience is less important than the ability to produce accurate work, learn new processes, and provide dependable support. Over time, this role offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop in your logistics career.

Your Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. in our Ripley, TN office.

Highlights of your role

  • Maintain accurate driver payroll information and supporting records, including mileage, receipts, pay-card activity, invoices, hours-of-service information, and spreadsheets submitted to payroll.

  • Serve as a primary support contact for drivers, answering questions and helping troubleshoot basic technology needs such as tablets, passwords, and email.

  • Use the Visibility platform to monitor driver and customer activity, identify delays, and keep drivers and customers informed of relevant updates.

  • Review Samsara dashboards and driver safety information, including events requiring follow-up, and support accurate hours-of-service reporting.

  • Coordinate and reconcile logistics-related administrative information while providing support for driver schedules, customer orders, vendor pickups, trip coordination, and backhauls as needed.

  • Balance changing priorities while providing consistent administrative support to the logistics operation.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • A high school diploma or GED.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and reconciling detailed information.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, customers, and internal partners.

  • Manage multiple priorities while staying organized and following work through to completion.

  • Learn and adapt to changing logistics processes, systems, and technology.

Also want to make sure you have

  • Experience with payroll, data entry, invoicing, reconciliation, administrative finance, or related clerical work.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Comfort learning technology and assisting others with basic troubleshooting.

  • A calm, collaborative approach and the ability to receive feedback and communicate directly and professionally.

  • Strong transferable administrative skills, previous logistics experience, or a combination of both is preferred.
